The 30-member New York Arabic Orchestra, directed by Bassam Saba, is the most prestigious Arabic orchestra in the US. Its program features classical and popular repertoire by the great Rahbani Brothers, as well as Bassam Saba’s original works - passionate compositions deeply rooted in the traditions of Lebanese folk and classical Arabic music. Saba, a virtuoso nay (flute) player, multi-instrumentalist, and leading figure in Arabic music, has performed widely with Fairuz, Marcel Khalife, and Simon Shaheen. Featured artists include the stunning vocalists Naji Youssef and Salma Marjieh.
