One of India’s leading Kathak artists of her generation, and a stellar disciple of the legendary Kumudini Lakhia, Sanjukta Sinha is known for her technical expertise and immense artistry. Rooted yet modern, Sanjukta aims to create a new idiom of Kathak as a performing art, one that is an arresting blend of the traditional and contemporary.
She will be performing Angika, Journeys in Love, choreographed by Ms. Lakhia—and including music by the renowned Gundecha brothers—is a suite of dances that explores Sufi concepts of love of the divine. Sanjukta takes us from hope and longing to anguish and joy on a journey that is both contemporary and eternal.

Various aspects of virtuosity become wrapped into a larger elegance of style; Ms. Sinha’s dancing is most memorable. -The NY Times
