An Intimate Evening with Mariza & special friends
Tuesday, 8 PM
159 Pioneer Street, Brooklyn
Presented in association with Pioneer Works
General admission, unreserved seating
$45 advance/$50 door
This concert will be a rare Mariza performance of stripped-down traditional Fado as it would be heard in a small club in Lisbon. Mariza will be performing a special acoustic set and going back to her roots in a uniquely intimate setting at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn.
Mariza is one of the most widely acclaimed stars of the World Music circuit and one of the most popular Fado performers ever. No Portuguese artist since Amália Rodrigues has experienced such a triumphant international career, accumulating success after success on the most prestigious world stages, rave reviews from music critics worldwide and countless international awards and distinctions. Her repertoire, while firmly rooted in classical and contemporary Fado, has grown to include occasional Cape Verdean mornas, Rhythm and Blues classics and other themes she holds dear to her heart.
This performance is part of a series of concerts Mariza is performing in small venues so her fans can hear her up close and personal.
