March in NYC brings the celebration of the best of Irish culture and this special WMI presentation is no exception. The all-star celtic line-up features performances by BBC Lifetime Achievement Award winners Dervish, an ensemble that includes some of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians, fronted by one of the country’s best-known singers, Cathy Jordan. Also performing will be Irish-American Grammy Award winner Eileen Ivers. Ivers was a touring musician with Mick Moloney’s Green Fields of America, a founding member of Cherish the Ladies, and former star of Riverdance whom The New York Times calls “the Jimi Hendrix of the violin”. She will be joined by her band UnIVERSal Roots.

The ORIGINS series features artists who delve into the folklore and roots of their respective culture’s music to tell the story of their origins, preserving and affirming cultural identities and legacies.
