Join us for an evening of live music from Brazil in the intimate setting of the home of WMI Board Co-Chair Daisy Paradis. Enjoy food and drinks and the opportunity to mix and mingle with the artists, WMI Board Members, fellow world music enthusiasts and WMI staff.
Trio Catarina plays a traditional Forro from the Northeast of Brazil. It’s a style called Forro Pe De Serra where the instrumentation consists of a Triangle, a little bass drum called Zabumba, and an Accordion. All these instruments have a European background, but once in the hands of a Brazilian from the region, this unique combo merges into this very unique style that is becoming more and more popular around the world.
