Join us for an intimate evening of classical guitar flavored with tango rhythms and jazz harmonies courtesy of Argentinian-born modern classical guitarist Carlos Pavan at the Clara Aich Studio in Manhattan. The performance will be followed by a Q&A with the artist. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Described as performing “striking music and great originality” from renowned Classical Guitar Magazine, Carlos Pavan (born in Argentina and living in New York since 2000) is part of a new wave of modern classical guitar composers combining tango/folklore rhythms with jazz harmonies and classical technique/forms. He is a former student of maestro Jorge Morel, Dave Smey (Brooklyn Conservatory), and Pablo Ziegler (Astor Piazzolla’s pianist). Carlos has performed internationally in France, Canada, Portugal, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, and Japan and has recorded three albums with his compositions including with special guest contemporary string quartet PUBLIQuartet (Carnegie Hall debut 2015).
