World Music Institute and the International Museum of the Saree proudly present an extraordinary evening of Indian classical music and cultural heritage, “Peace Through Music”, a heartfelt tribute to the legendary sarangi exponent Ustad Sabri Khan. This special concert celebrates the life, legacy, and timeless contribution of one of the greatest ambassadors of Indian classical music, whose artistry elevated the sarangi to the world stage.

The tribute will be presented by internationally acclaimed sarangi maestro Ustad Kamal Sabri, son and foremost disciple of Ustad Sabri Khan Sahab, alongside the eighth-generation torchbearers of the illustrious Sabri musical lineage, Abdul Ahad Sabri and Asad Sabri. This landmark performance marks the New York debut of Abdul Ahad and Asad Sabri, introducing a new generation of sarangi artists to audiences in the United States.

Through soulful ragas, traditional compositions, and musical tributes, the concert will showcase the depth, emotion, and spiritual power of the sarangi—an instrument often described as the closest to the human voice.

For over seven generations, the Sabri Family has been dedicated to preserving and advancing the rich tradition of the Moradabad Gharana. From the pioneering contributions of Ustad Sabri Khan Sahab to the global artistic achievements of Ustad Kamal Sabri, the family has carried the voice of the sarangi across continents, inspiring audiences through a unique blend of tradition, innovation, and cultural dialogue.

Presented in partnership with the World Music Institute and the International Museum of the Saree, this event symbolizes the unifying power of art and culture. The International Museum of the Saree promotes South Asian cultural heritage and diaspora through exhibitions of vintage apparels, themed multi-genre music on Iheartradio, education, and artistic collaborations.

Peace Through Music is more than a concert—it is a celebration of heritage, family, and the universal language of music. It honors the enduring legacy of Ustad Sabri Khan Sahab while heralding the arrival of a new generation dedicated to carrying the voice of the sarangi into the future
