WMI PLUS At Home - Adam Rudolph and Piotr Orlov

WMI PLUS At Home experiences bring music from around the world into the comfort of your home. Renowned artists share their lives, instruments, and stories from their personal environments, bringing an intimacy and uniqueness to each event. These talks are led by fellow musicians, journalists, and ethnomusicologists. Live captioning will be provided during the event.

We are thrilled to provide these events for FREE. If you are able to make a donation of any amount while registering for this event, it will help us to keep the music playing. Thank you!

In advance of our September 10 Season Launch event at Central Park SummerStage, we’re thrilled to present a WMI PLUS At Home session with the event’s musical director and longtime WMI friend Adam Rudolph, a critically acclaimed composer and percussionist whom The New York Times described as a “pioneer in world music”. He will be joined in conversation by writer, editor, and musical storyteller Piotr Orlov. The two will reminisce about Adam’s history with WMI including his involvement in the original Improvisations series that took place in the late 80s and early 90s, and the process of “rebooting” the series for our event on September 10 which will feature, and pay tribute to, many of the past Improvisations collaborators. The conversation will be followed by a Q&A with attendees.
