Our next WMI Plus At Home Session features poems, testimonies, and writings of women who were victims of horrific atrocities during The Holocaust. Join members of the Payadora Tango Ensemble and Lenka Lichtenberg with journalist/music producer Dan Rosenberg for Yom Hashoah.

Some of the stories that will be discussed come from a project led by Dr. Paula David, a social worker who helped survivors at a Jewish retirement home in Canada process their trauma by writing collective poetry. Others are from Molly Applebaum, a Canadian author, who during her adolescent years, was buried underground in a small wooden box in a barn in Dąbrowa Tarnowska, Poland during World War II. Featuring original music composed by Rebekah wolkstein as well as 1930’s works from Jewish composers murdered during the Holocaust, “Silent Tears” is a story of incredible resilience by women who overcame unimaginable horrors and wanted to share those stories to warn the world about the dangers of racism and xenophobia.

The conversation will be followed by a Q&A with attendees.
